About the Meet
The Akinosun Elite Invitational was founded in 2021 at the Gately Indoor Track in Chicago, IL by Morolake Akinosun.
Our Mission: To fulfill the void of elite indoor track and field meets at first class venues throughout Chicagoland and the Midwest. To help promote participation in indoor track and field from middle and high school students. Creating an opportunity for collegiate recruiting.
About Morolake Akinosun
Morolake Akinosun is an Olympic Gold medalist and World Champion sprinter as well as a Primetime Emmy Award winner. Akinosun graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where she was a 4-time NCAA Champion and 23-time All-American. Akinosun got her start in track and field as a member of the Aurora Flyers track club in Aurora, Illinois coached by Thomas Boatright. AEI fulfills her desire to create opportunities for middle and high school athletes to compete in competitions she did not have access to.
